About the National IRB Registration Portal
The National IRB Registration Portal is an official digital platform developed to facilitate the registration, review, and approval of Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) across Pakistan. The system aims to streamline the submission process, improve transparency, and maintain a centralized national registry of recognized IRBs.
Through this portal, institutions can submit their IRB registration applications online, upload required supporting documents, and track their application status. All submissions are reviewed by the National Bioethics Committee in accordance with established ethical guidelines and regulatory standards.
The portal also serves as a public directory of registered IRBs, enabling easy access to verified institutional ethics review bodies across the country. This initiative supports the promotion of ethical research practices, accountability, and standardization of ethical oversight in biomedical and health research.

View registered IRBsThe person registering their institution's IRB signs in using their institutional email and creates an account. Once verified, they begin a registration application, fill in the required details, upload the supporting documents, and submit it for review. Progress is saved as they go, so an application can be completed over more than one sitting and its status tracked until a decision is reached.
